Fun with Family
We went over to CA this past weekend to celebrate Jeff's Aunt Dot's 97th birthday. This is his dad's "big sister". It was so wonderful to spend time with our Lundblad family.

Birthday weekend!

I had a fun birthday weekend. First off on Friday night we went to see the play Beauty and the Beast at the Hale theater. It was a great production and so fun to be there with everyone. We ended up at Oregano's having Pizza Cookies. Yum! The next night we met up at Peter Piper with my side of the family to see Jacob, the son of my cousin who is stationed at Luke AFB just for another week. There I was presented with a card made by Amber, signed by everyone. There was a mountain of Krispy Kreme donuts with a big "50" on the top! Then today, my real birthday I started by taking a picture of myself at 9:47 AM, the time of my birth. I then called my parents and proceeded to Waa Waa like a newborn so they could relive the moment. Ha Ha! The day was just spent relaxing and then we went to dinner at Joe's Farm Grill and came home to a cake that Katie made with ice cream of course! I made a wish and didn't have any trouble blowing out the one "Big 50" candle! All in all a great weekend. So far Fifty Feels Fine! Enjoy the pics!
50 years! Yikes!

Sedona
We had a nice day in Sedona yesterday. I got to visit one of my favorite places, the Chapel of the Holy Cross. Jeff and I have been coming here since we were dating and would take a day trip. I am always awestruck by the beauty of Sedona. I really think it is one of the most amazing sights in the world. Since Saturday we have had a great time just relaxing and enjoying time together. Brett has been swimming a lot. Jeff and I wait until dark to venture to the pool so we don't scare anyone. Ha Ha! This morning Jeff had to return to the valley to work. Bummer. So, it's just me and Brett here now. We are looking forward to having a movie marathon day. And tomorrow we will go see the new Harry Potter. Mindy got preview tickets to a showing yesterday and she took Josh and Katie. She said it was really good. Can't wait! More later!

Whirlwind Week
It was a whirlwind week. The services for Dad A. were very special. Jeff's friend Rocky who is a Pastor came from NC to do the funeral. It meant so much to all of us to have the personal touch of someone who knew Jeff's Dad. Bob thought a lot of Rocky and always loved hearing about him through Jeff. You are THE BEST Rocky! An amazing friend! Jim spoke at the funeral as well and did a wonderful job of expressing himself. Jeff and Katie put together a very touching video tribute that was shown toward the end of the service. So many wonderful memories were shared between family and friends. Times like these sure make us appreciate the importance of family love. It was wonderful to have Jim, Kathy, C.J. and Christyne here from NJ and Boston. Also Aunt Lu and Annie from CA. Special thanks go to our Lundblad cousins who traveled from CA to be here, getting in at 3:30 AM, briefly sleeping, attending the service and driving home that same day. It meant the world that you made the effort to be here to honor your Uncle Bob. We love you Erica, Tracy, Dana and Michelle. Thank you to all who have been there to support us. Now comes the time where we have to get used to the idea that Dad A. is no longer here. We all loved listening to his stories. About 5 years ago I set up my camcorder on the tripod and had him talk about his childhood memories, meeting Betty, etc. He talked non stop for over 2 hours. He was a great story teller. What a treasure that is to have. On my agenda is to do that with my parents. I would sure encourage others to do it as well. It is very comforting to have. Last but not least I want to say THANK YOU to John and Syl who lovingly cared for Dad in their home this past year. They were a true gift to him. We will sure miss you Dad, but are comforted with our faith that you are reunited with your beloved Betty and precious Arlene.
